The Planning Sector of the Prime Minister's Office organized on Saturday the first consultative meeting for planning office directors in the capital Sana'a and provinces.
In the meeting, Director of the Prime Minister's Office Mohammed al-Kebsi stressed the need to enhance and activate the role of planning offices and enhance coordination with the relevant authorities.
Al-Kebsi pointed out the importance of the first consultative meeting that came after the merger process and reorganization of government agencies and institutions to discuss the problems and difficulties facing planning offices.
He pointed out the importance of planning offices in developing development plans that address needs and priorities according to available capabilities and meet the basic needs of citizens.
For his part, Assistant Director of the Prime Minister's Office for Planning Sector Jarallah Fadhel indicated that the meeting aims to discuss the challenges facing planning offices in the provinces and enhance their role in the next stage.
Fadhel stressed the importance of the role of planning offices in local and rural development, coordination between all executive offices in the provinces, evaluation of the development situation, the level of service provision, and project implementation.
He explained that the Planning Sector in the Prime Minister's Office provides technical support to all central and local state agencies and institutions in the process of preparing plans and programs and training officials and specialists of planning units in the administrative apparatus units in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Deputy Assistant Director of the Prime Minister's Office for Planning Sector Ali al-Mutamayiz also stressed the need for everyone to sense responsibility, overcome obstacles, and activate the role of planning offices in the success of local authority plans and the implementation of government projects in all development and service fields.
He pointed out the importance of developing programs to build the capabilities and skills of employees and cadres of planning offices in the provinces, enabling them to analyze the current situation and develop plans that touch reality, improve institutional work performance, and help local development in the provinces.
