The American newspaper, The New York Times, revealed today, Friday, that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is considering expanding the World Cup to include 64 teams, for one time.
The 48-team World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
The tournament will include 104 matches instead of 64 matches as in previous versions, including an additional round for the knockout stage.
