Seoul - Saba:
South Korean and US forces conducted joint drills on Monday simulating combat scenarios in underground North Korean tunnels, as part of efforts to enhance military preparedness to counter potential threats from North Korea.
The four-day drills, which began today in the Paju area north of Seoul, are being conducted with the participation of 370 soldiers. These drills are part of the annual Freedom Shield exercise, which aims to train troops on combat tactics in underground facilities in the event of war. The drills will also include the use of explosives and small drones for reconnaissance.
The drills will conclude next Thursday.
