Yemeni Scholars issue urgent call to action on al-Quds day, denounce Israeli Occupation

Sana'a - Saba:

In a fiery statement released ahead of International al-Quds Day, the Yemeni Scholars Association has issued a stark warning to the Muslim world, demanding immediate and decisive action against the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

The religious body emphasized the sanctity of al-Aqsa Mosque, equating its importance to the Grand Mosque in Mecca, and called for a unified Muslim front to defend Palestinian territories.

The statement, delivered on Thursday condemned what it described as the "Judaization" of al-Aqsa and the "brutal massacres" perpetrated against Palestinians. The scholars specifically targeted Arab nations, accusing them of inaction and complicity in the face of Israeli aggression.

"Palestine, with its al-Quds, mosque, and blessed land, is a trust from Allah in the hands of Muslims. Jews have no right to it," the statement declared, calling for a global mobilization of scholars, preachers, and media figures to raise awareness and support the Palestinian cause.

The Association demanded concrete actions, including the severing of diplomatic ties with Israel and the United States, the cessation of oil exports, and the provision of military and financial aid to Palestinian "mujahideen." They also condemned normalization with Israel as a "sin and crime," especially in light of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The scholars praised the Yemeni revolutionary leadership's support for Gaza and called for unwavering support from the Yemeni people. They also condemned the "American-British aggression" against Yemen, predicting its failure.

"Arabs in particular, and Muslims in general, must fear Allah... and present a true image befitting the greatness of Islam," the statement asserted, urging Muslims to unite in a "Promise of the Hereafter" battle against the Israeli occupation. The statement's tone underscored the urgency of the situation and the perceived religious imperative for Muslim action.
