The 22nd of May Club in the capital Sana'a has celebrated the conclusion of the Martyr Leader Ramadan Championship, a youth and junior football tournament, with an awards ceremony attended by high-ranking officials.
Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mohammed al-Moayyad, Capital Sana'a Secretary-General Amin Juma'an, and 22nd of May Club Chairman Ali al-Saqqaf presented trophies and medals to the winning teams and outstanding players.
In the junior category final, the 22nd of May team secured victory over al-Najm with a 2-0 score. In the youth category, the 22nd of May team also claimed the championship title, defeating the Displaced team 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw.
Minister al-Moayyad praised the club's efforts in organizing the Ramadan league and supporting youth sports, emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to supporting clubs across Yemen despite challenging circumstances.
Club Chairman al-Saqqaf highlighted the tournament's alignment with International al-Quds Day celebrations and the club's focus on promoting various sports.
Individual awards were presented to the tournament's best players, top scorers, and best goalkeepers in both age categories. The ceremony also featured karate and kung fu demonstrations by members of the 22nd of May Club, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
