Gaza - Saba:
A leading source in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said on Thursday that after the assassination of the head of the follow-up committee for government work in Gaza Strip, Issam Daalis, the movement decided not to appoint a replacement for him, paving the way for the social support committee presented by Egypt and approved by the Arab League to take over the administration of Gaza Strip.
Hamas mourned the death of Issam Daalis, who was martyred on March 18, after the Israeli enemy resumed its war on the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement, a leading Hamas source said, "After the assassination of al-Daalis, the movement decided not to appoint a replacement to head the government follow-up committee."
The source added that "the decision not to appoint a replacement for Daalis paves the way for the Community Support Committee to take over the affairs management of Gaza Strip," stressing that "government affairs are currently managed only to monitor basic services, to prevent a vacuum in light of the war."
He explained that Hamas demanded "to expedite the assumption of the CSC's duties, in accordance with what was agreed upon.
