Beirut - Saba:
Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, affirmed that the Palestinian cause is a legitimate right that cannot be abandoned, emphasizing the party's commitment to supporting the resistance until Palestine is liberated from the sea to the river. This came during his speech on the occasion of "International Quds Day," where he noted that the Palestinian cause is not merely a political issue for Iran, but rather an ideological and religious one.
He explained that the changes in the region since Imam Khomeini declared Quds Day in 1979 have benefited the resistance, pointing to Iran's support for it and the transformation of the Palestinian cause into a global issue. He also emphasized that the resistance in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and elsewhere has strengthened, reflecting a major shift in the course of the Palestinian cause.
He described Israel as a "cancerous tumor" in the hands of the United States, believing that the occupation seeks to expand into the West Bank and even southern Lebanon. He emphasized that resistance is a legitimate and defensive right that prevents Israeli aggression, warning that continued violations will lead to other options if the Lebanese state does not take political and diplomatic action.
On the Lebanese front, he noted that Hezbollah and the Amal Movement had made progress in electing a president and forming a government, emphasizing the need for all parties to participate in Lebanon's renaissance. He also denied any connection between Hezbollah and some of the events on the Syrian-Lebanese border, emphasizing the Lebanese army's responsibility to protect citizens there.
