Daraa - Saba:
A patrol of the Israeli enemy army arrested on Saturday six farmers while they were working on their lands in the Yarmouk Valley near the village of Koya in the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.
The incident came less than 24 hours after the release of three citizens from the same village who were arrested by the enemy forces while they were in their lands on Friday morning, after they sent a warning to the people of the area not to go to their lands in Wadi al-Yarmouk, as it has become an enemy military zone.
While Ahrar Horan reported that the number of detainees is eight farmers, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper quoted a source as saying that the International Committee of the Red Cross is negotiating with the Israeli enemy to release them and has assured the families that the enemy authorities will release them soon.
Koya residents appealed to international organizations to press for the immediate release of the detainees, warning that the security situation in the region will collapse as a result of these actions.
They also warned of the collapse of the agricultural sector in the region due to attempts to prevent farmers from working on their land. There has been no official reaction from the United Nations, Arab countries or the ruling powers in Syria so far.
