Geneva - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) expressed its "deep shock" over the deaths of eight Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics, five civil defense personnel, and a UN staff member who had been missing for eight days after being besieged by Israeli forces.
The ICRC added in a statement: "These workers and volunteers risked their lives to provide support to others, we express our deep sorrow and share in the grief of their families, loved ones, and colleagues."
