Capitals – Saba:
Hundreds of people demonstrated in European cities on Saturday against US President Donald Trump and his advisor Elon Musk, following a difficult week for financial markets following Trump's decision to impose comprehensive global tariffs.
According to press sources, the demonstrations were held on Saturday under the slogan "Hands Up." A protest under this slogan took place in the German city of Frankfurt, organized by Democrats Abroad, the official organization of Americans living abroad for the Democratic Party.
In Berlin, demonstrators gathered in front of a Tesla showroom owned by Musk, holding signs calling on Americans living in Germany to protest to "end the chaos" in their country.
At a rally in Frankfurt's Opera Square, members of Democrats Abroad demanded the US president's resignation, holding signs reading "Restore democracy," "Hands off our personal data," and "The world is fed up with your nonsense, Donald. Go!"
In Berlin, Musk was tagged with slogans such as "Shut up, Elon, no one voted for you," and a dog wore a sign reading "Dogs Against the Efficiency Management Department," referring to the department Musk leads, an initiative of the current Trump administration aimed at reducing waste and fraud at the federal level.
In Paris, about 200 people, mostly Americans, gathered in the Place de la République for an anti-Trump protest. Some delivered speeches denouncing the president, and demonstrators waved signs with slogans such as "Resist the Tyrant," "Rule of Law," "Feminists for Freedom, Not Fascism," and "Save Democracy."
Other European cities, such as London and Lisbon, also saw protests against Trump and Musk.
In the British capital, a few hundred people gathered in Trafalgar Square. The crowd chanted "Hands off Canada," "Hands off Greenland," and "Hands off Ukraine" while listening to speeches critical of Trump.
