Sana’a - Saba:
The Tourism Promotion Council has condemned the U.S. bombing of the historic "al-Qashla" Fortress on Jabal Nuqm, east of the capital Sana’a, describing the attack as a crime against human heritage and a flagrant violation of international law.
The Board stated that the fortress is a cultural treasure dating back to the Sabaean era, featuring rare inscriptions, ancient artifacts, and a unique rock-carved reservoir — all of which make it a cultural landmark deserving of international protection.
The Board considered the targeting a dangerous escalation and part of ongoing efforts to erase Yemen’s cultural identity.
It called on UNESCO and the international community to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, stop such attacks, and hold those responsible accountable.
It also urged media outlets to shed light on the scale of damage inflicted on Yemen’s heritage, warning that global silence amounts to complicity in a crime that threatens a civilization thousands of years old.
