Sana'a - Saba:

The Board of Directors of the Sana'a Governorate Cleanliness and Improvement Fund discussed the Fund's progress and needs in its meeting today, chaired by Governor Abdulbasit Al-Hadi.

The meeting, which included the Fund's Executive Director, Engineer Sami Al-Turabi, and members of the Board of Directors, reviewed the progress of implementing the outcomes of the joint meeting of the Administrative Body and the Fund's Board of Directors held on 17 Jumada Al-Akhira, regarding the implementation of several projects related to developing the Fund's work.

The attendees approved the Fund's final accounts for the fiscal year 2025, taking into account the comments received from the Governorate's Finance Office and recommending that they be incorporated into future final accounts.

The meeting also approved the Fund's needs plan for the fiscal year 1446 AH - 2025 AD, amounting to 5.8 billion riyals, as well as the plan to plant trees at the entrances and streets of the Governorate for the year 1446 AH, at an estimated cost of 23 million 921 thousand riyals, from the Fund's own resources for 2025 AD.

The Fund's management proposal to establish a waste recycling and sorting plant was approved, and the designated site was handed over to the Fund to enable the preparation of studies for the plant's construction.

The meeting also discussed and approved a request to purchase and install an electronic scale at the temporary landfill to weigh cleaning equipment loads and monitor loads.

The attendees recommended contacting the directors of the directorates and neighborhood affairs departments to oblige owners of residential buildings and commercial establishments to pave the sidewalks adjacent to them and ensure their cleanliness, which would contribute to the aesthetic appearance of cities and streets.

At the meeting, Governor Al-Hadi emphasized the importance of developing the Fund's administrative and field work mechanisms and following up on the implementation of public awareness programs to strengthen the relationship between sanitation workers and community members.

He noted the local authority's commitment to overcoming the difficulties facing the Fund to improve sanitation and environmental work, develop administrative work, and monitor and evaluate field performance.

The Governor of Sana'a emphasized the need to redouble efforts to enhance sanitation and improvement services to achieve qualitative indicators in waste removal and street and neighborhood improvement.
