Israeli enemy media revealed a significant decline in the military performance of the Israeli army during its ongoing operations in the Gaza Strip, pointing to heavy casualties among elite units, specifically Golani Brigade, one of the most prominent infantry brigades.
According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Golani Brigade has lost 114 fighters and officers since the beginning of the war, while thousands have been wounded, reflecting the intensity of the confrontations with the Palestinian resistance and its ability to inflict painful blows even on the best-trained and best-armed units.
The newspaper also reported that the occupation army is facing increasing internal challenges, most notably severe exhaustion among regular soldiers who bear the brunt of the fighting, in addition to the escalating decline in morale due to the length of the war and the complexity of its objectives.
In a related context, the Israeli occupation army radio revealed a decline in the commitment of reserve soldiers. Field officers confirmed that only 60% of reserve personnel were actually participating in operations inside Gaza, despite official data indicating a rate of 85%. This highlights a gap between statements and reality on the ground.
