London - Saba:
The British newspaper (The Sun) reported today, Sunday, that U.S. President Donald Trump prevented his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, from joining his meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky in the Vatican.
According to the newspaper, Trump told Macron, "You shouldn’t be here," as reported by lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling.
Hickling commented on footage showing the French president shaking hands with Zelensky while Trump tells him, "You seem to be mistaken; you shouldn’t be here."
The White House later released a video showing preparations for the talks between the American and Ukrainian sides. The recording reveals that there were initially three chairs set up, but after Trump’s intervention, only two remained—one for him and one for Zelensky.
Earlier, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung stated that Trump met privately with Zelensky during the funeral of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI in Rome, describing the meeting as "highly productive."
