Tehran - Saba:
The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Monday that the fourth round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States will tentatively be held on Saturday.
He said: "According to the understandings reached in Muscat, the next round of negotiations will be tentatively held on Saturday, and we are naturally coordinating with the Omani side. The date and location of the meeting will be determined by the three parties. Naturally, technical discussions will require more time."
Tasnim International News Agency reported that Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei, during his weekly press conference with the media, offered his condolences to the Iranian people in Hormozgan and to all the families affected by the explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port.
Regarding the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States and Iran's red lines, Baghaei said, "Details must be discussed within the framework of agreed-upon general understandings. Our red lines are part of the negotiating principles, and we are following them with utmost seriousness."
He emphasized, "The duration of the negotiations and the time periods between rounds are determined by mutual understanding between the two parties. From the beginning, we said we are serious and believe that if we can remove the unjust sanctions any day, it will be to the benefit of the Iranian people. We are prepared for short rounds, provided that this is done with mutual understanding."
Regarding Araghchi's statements in an article published in the Washington Post about cooperation with other countries in developing a peaceful nuclear program, Baghaei said, "This statement is actually intended to clarify Iran's needs.
One of the arguments raised against Iran's peaceful nuclear program is that Iran does not need it because it has oil and gas, and this is unjustified." The point the minister made in his article was to highlight Iran's capabilities, and we do not mind cooperating with other countries in this area.
The third round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States was held on Saturday in the Omani capital, Muscat, and concluded with May 3 set as the tentative date for the next meeting.
