Sana'a – Saba:
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) expressed deep concern over reports of airstrikes that hit a migrant shelter in Saada Governorate overnight.
OCHA’s office in Yemen stated in a release, a copy of which was obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that preliminary information indicates the airstrikes killed 68 migrants and injured dozens, with numbers likely to rise as frontline responders continue search and rescue efforts.
The office noted that reports suggest hospitals in Saada are under severe strain due to limited capacity and resources, as two nearby hospitals received over 50 injured, most with critical wounds.
It emphasized that airstrikes pose an escalating threat to civilians in Yemen, adding that other reports confirmed eight killed and six injured, including women and children, last evening in Bani Al-Harith District in the capital’s municipality.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs urged all parties to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians.
