A senior, unnamed UN official told the British newspaper The Guardian on Sunday that the international organization can no longer provide any aid to the people of Gaza due to depleted supplies, warning of the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the besieged enclave.
The newspaper quoted the UN official as saying, "There is nothing left for us to offer in Gaza. Once the last supplies run out, we will have to shut down the kitchens."
He noted that "Gazans are still holding on, but we have learned from past crises that things can deteriorate rapidly."
This comes as the Israeli occupation continues to block all crossings into Gaza since the beginning of March, preventing the entry of any humanitarian aid or relief supplies, despite the ongoing spread of famine among the population.
