Washington – SABA:

Dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside the White House on Monday morning to denounce the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is accused of war crimes and wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and held signs with slogans condemning Israeli policies, including: “Stop Arming Israel,” “Free Palestine,” and “Netanyahu is Wanted,” highlighting accusations of war crimes and genocide committed by Israel against civilians in the Gaza Strip, according to Quds Press.

The protests coincided with Netanyahu’s arrival in Washington, as his aircraft—nicknamed “Wing of Zion”—landed at Andrews Air Force Base Monday morning after a roughly 12-hour flight, according to Israel’s Channel 12.

The Israeli outlet noted that Netanyahu did not make any statements to reporters upon arrival.

Citing unnamed American sources, Channel 12 reported that the Trump administration is pushing for a clear declaration from both Israel and Hamas to commit to a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Implementation details could take several days to finalize.

Backed by the U.S. and Europe, the Israeli military has continued its campaign of mass killings in Gaza since October 7, 2023. As of Monday, the offensive has killed 57,523 Palestinian civilians, the majority women and children, and injured 136,617 others, according to preliminary figures. Thousands more remain trapped under rubble or in unreachable areas, with emergency teams unable to access them.
