Moscow Expands List of European Countries Participating in Anti-Russian Policy

Moscow - Saba:
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday a ban on entry into our country for law enforcement personnel, government and commercial organizations, as well as citizens of EU member states and several other Western countries responsible for providing military assistance to Kyiv.

Sputnik quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in response to the 17th and 18th packages of sanctions imposed by the European Union: "Hostile actions against Russia cannot influence our country's policy. Russia will continue its approach to defending its national interests and protecting a new, just world order." The ministry stressed that all additional EU sanctions decisions against Russia will receive an appropriate response in due course.

It added: "In response to these unfriendly actions, the Russian side has significantly expanded the list of representatives of European institutions, EU member states, and several European countries that are part of Brussels' anti-Russian policy... Entry into our country is prohibited. This includes law enforcement personnel, government and commercial organizations, citizens of EU member states, and several other Western countries responsible for providing military assistance to Kyiv."

The Russian Foreign Ministry continued: "In addition, entry is prohibited for citizens involved in organizing the supply of dual-use products to Ukraine, engaging in activities aimed at undermining our country's territorial integrity, and organizing a blockade of the movement of Russian ships and cargo in the Baltic Sea; and for representatives of European structures and government agencies of EU and other European countries involved in the persecution of Russian officials, allegedly for "illegal arrests and expulsion of persons from Ukrainian territory."

On July 18, the European Council approved the 18th package of sanctions against Russia, which included sanctions targeting 14 individuals and 41 legal entities. The sanctions entered into force the following day.

The Russian Permanent Mission to the European Union reported on Friday that the ban on the import of petroleum products manufactured with Russian oil from third countries will inevitably lead to an increase in prices on the EU market.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in response to a question from reporters about the 18th package of sanctions against Russia, before its approval, said: "So far, we see a fairly uniform line against Russia, on the part of the European Union." Europe. We have repeatedly stated that we consider such unilateral restrictions illegal."
