The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) thwarted the activities of three accomplices of Ukrainian intelligence in the Donetsk People's Republic and the Yaroslavl and Lipetsk regions.
The detainees were planning terrorist attacks, transmitting information about the Russian armed forces, and attempting to implicate citizens in terrorist activities via text messages.
Sputnik quoted the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) as saying in a statement: "The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has stopped the activities of three accomplices of Ukrainian security services in the Donetsk People's Republic, and the Yaroslavl and Lipetsk regions, who were recruited to participate in subversive and terrorist acts via foreign electronic messaging programs... The terrorists were arrested as part of criminal cases initiated by the investigative units of the regional security services under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 205 (preparation of a terrorist act), Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 (involvement in terrorist activity), and Article 275 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation."
It is noteworthy that a Russian citizen was arrested in the city of Khartsyzhsk in the Donetsk People's Republic for his involvement in preparing to kill a military service member in the region, transmitting information to the Ukrainian side about the locations of Russian armed forces units, and implicating social media users in the activities of Ukrainian terrorist organizations.
