Yemen accepts humanitarian truce: Army spokesman

SANA'A, May 10 (Saba) - The Army spokesman Sharaf Luqman on Sunday announced Yemen's acceptance to the humanitarian truce to start on Tuesday.

The army accepted that truce which came as result of the efforts of many brotherly and friendly countries in order to allow for cargoes of humanitarian aid to have access to Yemen, Luqman said in a press release.

"However, the army will retort strictly with any breach by al-Qaeda elements and those who support or finance them."

He underlined that the army has demanded many times left the unjust blockade imposed on the country to allow food, medicines and oil derivatives to reach Yemen.

The aggressors have refused the demands even after they inspected them in the territorial waters and assured they are free of weapons "as they claimed", the spokesman added.
