HODEIDAH, Aug. 19 (Saba) - The Higher Fishery Committee, in partnership with the Community Technical Committee to solve the problems of fishermen in the Red Sea, has carried out a field visit to al-Salif district in Hodeidah province to stay informed the fishermen's problems and assess their emergency needs.
During the field visit, which included al-Salif Center, Ras Issa, al-Wali area, and al-Zahefi, the head of the fisheries sector at the Higher Fishery Committee Engineer Hashim al-Daena'i, and vice-chairman of the community technical committee to solve the problems of fishermen in the Red Sea Tahir Ali Khater held extensive discussion sessions with fishermen in addition to a number of community meetings with fishermen.
The emergency development plan for the Higher Fishery Committee was reviewed to promote the fish sector, develop, and empower fishermen in al-Salif area, and promote them culturally, economically and socially.
The problems suffered by the fishermen in al-Salif district in Hodeidah were also discussed, as well as appropriate solutions were also reviewed.
