SANAA, Aug. 25 (Saba) - Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdulmohsen Tawoos has discussed with undersecretary of Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry Dr. Radwan Ali al-Rabai, ways to develop and improve livestock productivity in Yemen.
In the meeting, in the presence of the President of Sanaa University Dr. al-Qassem Abbas, and the President of the General Authority for Agricultural Research Dr. Abdullah al-Olofi, Tawoos stressed the need to pay attention to livestock and work to develop means that ensure improving their productivity and enhancing its role in the field of food security.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture referred to livestock as a source of income for the majority of families in rural areas, pointing out the importance of educating farmers and cattle and livestock breeders on how to improve production by modern means that would contribute to achieving self-sufficiency and food security.
The Head of Sanaa University affirmed that the interest in agricultural and scientific research would contribute to the actual launch towards developing development indicators and improving productivity.
