[02/ May/2022]

SANA'A, May 02 (Saba) - His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council,  has congratulated the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the heroes of the army, the popular committees, and the brave security men on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr.

President al-Mashat congratulated the Yemeni people and the Arab and Islamic nations on Eid al-Fitr, saying "The blessed Eid Al-Fitr came for the eighth year in a row while our great Yemeni people are subjected to the most heinous aggression led by America and its Saudi and Emirati tools who are imposing a suffocating siege on our Yemeni people by preventing ships from reaching the ports of Hodeida.”

Al-Mashat indicated that the aggression countries imposed many criminal measures that led to an increase in transportation costs, food and pharmaceutical prices, and many repercussions, stressing that the aggression countries impede any steps that lead to the success of the truce announced by United Nations and committed to entering fuel ships and operating flights from and to Sana'a airport smoothly.

He pointed out that after the expiry of half the period, the armistice did not make any progress in its most important provisions related to alleviating the great suffering of the Yemeni people.

Al-Mashat added despite all the concessions we made to demonstrate our keenness on peace, it was met with intransigence, procrastination, and lack of response by the aggression countries and those behind them.

"We assure our people that by trusting in God, we will continue efforts to extract their legitimate rights, end the siege, stop the aggression, and restore their freedom and independence on the entire soil of their land," he added.

President al-Mashat referred to the commitment to the truce and the desire for peace, stressing that the armed forces are fully vigilant and ready to deal with any developments.
