SANA'A, May. 28 (Saba) - Preparations are underway in Sana'a to hold the Yemeni First Conference on Celiac Disease (YFCCD) "Wheat and Gluten Allergy".
The conference is being held at the end of next June, and organized by the Yemen Celiac Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health and Population, aims to raise community awareness of celiac disease and its symptoms, alert the medical community, and ways and methods of supporting celiac patients psychologically.
The conference, in which doctors from various specialties, pharmacists and laboratories will participate and discuss themes on the mechanism of creating a database for celiac patients, introducing diagnostic tests, the suffering of mothers and children in the absence of early diagnosis of the disease, and the diet of patients.
During the conference, working papers will be presented on the importance of diagnosis to define and raise awareness of the disease, which is caused by lack of awareness and societal ignorance of it, deteriorating patients' conditions and leading to death.
