MAHWEET, Jun. 15 (Saba) - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Dr. Radhwan Al-Rubaie considered community initiative projects an ideal option for an agricultural renaissance.
Dr. Al-Rubaie, who was briefed on a number of community initiatives in the field of rainwater harvesting in al-Taweela district of Mahweet province, noted that the agricultural sector is at the forefront of Yemen's economic battle to break free from external commandments.
He pointed out the importance of promoting agricultural development by involving society and its contribution to various agricultural activities and fields. Society is an essential partner in agricultural development and the will of the human being to live well is the main determinant of the development process.
Dr. Al-Rubaie, together with -Mahweet provincial undersecretaries Hammoud Shamlan and Hussein Arkadh, praised efforts in implementing 50 rainwater harvesting projects in the various district of the Al-Taweela district on a community initiative.
He appreciated the role of the local authority and its contribution to supporting and promoting such initiatives and providing them with possible facilities to serve farmers and alleviate their suffering as a result of aggression and blockade.
Al-Rubaie stressed the keenness of the leadership of the High Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and their willingness to support the plans and programs of the provincial agriculture office and strengthen its role to carry out its tasks in the service of the agriculture sector in Mahweet.
