HODEIDA November 14. 2022 (Saba) - A meeting in Hodeida province discussed on Monday the level of support provided by the World Health Organization to al-Thawra General Hospital Authority and provide it with the necessary needs.
The meeting, which included chairman of the hospital authority Khaled Suhail, reviewed the most prominent difficulties facing the authority, including the severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies for public emergencies and the control of epidemic diseases as a result of scarcity of capabilities.
Suhail stressed the importance of the medical intervention of international organizations to support the efforts of the authority in carrying out its humanitarian tasks.
He pointed out that one of the most important aspects of support is the establishment of an oxygen station and a CT scan center.
In return, the WHO Yemen Emergency Director briefed the level of medical services in the various centers and facilities of the hospital and the tangible development after the organization's interventions and its support.
She stressed that the WHO will continue supporting medical interventions during the coming period, explaining that the aim of the her visit was to assess the support provided to the hospital authority during the last period and to identify the most prominent needs and services provided to patients.
