SANA'A Aug 10. 2023 (SABA) - Friday, Muharram 10th, 1445 AH - July 28, 2023 AD
I seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan, the outcast.
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
Praise is to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. I believe that there is no god but Allah, the Sovereign and the Manifest Truth, and that Muhammad, our master, is His servant,Messenger, and Last Prophet.
O Allah, confer Your salat and blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad
as You conferred Your salat and blessings upon Ibrahim and the Family of Ibrahim. You
are Owner of Praise, Owner of Glory! And be pleased with Muhammad good companions and all Your righteous servants and mujahidin.
Brothers and sisters, peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. May Allah multiply our and your reward and grant us all consolation on the anniversary of the killing of the master of martyrs and the grandson of the Prophet (PBUH&F): Imam Al-Hussein, the son of Ali and Muhammad's daughter Fatima (Peace be upon them all).Commemorating the anniversary of Ashura, expressing our grief for the grandson of the Prophet (PBUH&F), and speaking about him, his uprising, his martyrdom, the event of Karbala, and what happened on the tenth of Muharram, 60 AH, although we are in 1445 AH, shows the great, profound, and extended influence of the tragedy of Karbala and the uprising and martyrdom of the grandson of the Prophet (PBUH&F). It also shows the magnitude of this great tragedy that continues to shock conscientious people of the Islamic Ummah across generations.
This has also to do with what this tragedy offers of lessons and guiding examples that we are in dire need of in our practical reality as we stand up to challenges. More importantly, this has to do with what Imam Al-Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet (PBUH&F), means to us. When he took action, he moved from a position of guidance and exemplariness and was the one who represented the true extension of Islam and leadership of the Ummah, who reached that great perfection of faith, and about whom the Prophet (PBUH&F) had said, 'Hussein from me, and I am from Hussein; Allah loves whoever loves Hussein. Hussein is a Sibt among the Asbat. The tragedy of Karbala and what happened to the grandson of the Prophet, his family, and his faithful, righteous companions was a really clear manifestation of the considerable, serious deviation that enabled a clique of evil and tyranny from the Umayyad dynasty to seize power and positions of decision-making and to dominate the lives and destiny of people in the Ummah.
Those were Al-Twlaqa who carried the banner of polytheism and fought against the Prophet (PBUH&F) until the conquest of Mecca. When their leader Abu Sufyan was given the choice to be killed or embrace Islam, it was his defeat that made him enter Islam [not conviction], as he frankly said in his statement of Shahad (that Muhammad is Allah's slave and messenger); In my heart, there is still something against it.
In spite of the fact that the Prophet warned his Ummah against them and the danger of falling under their control and made clear that the result would be extremely catastrophic—distortion of Islamic religion in its concepts and subjection and humiliation of the Ummah as well as plundering and appropriating its wealth—as he said ;They take Allah’s religion as a hideout for corruption; Allah’s slaves as their slaves; and Allah’s blessing [as their own blessing] that they circulate it among them,' showing
clearly that no danger is equal to theirs, they found the way paved for them to achieve their dreams and hopes of dominating the Ummah and moving while carrying the banner of hypocrisy instead of that of polytheism in order to carry out their schemes of
retaliating against the Prophet (PBUH&F), to continue their war against Islam through distorting its concepts and mixing truth with falsehood, to humiliate, subject, and dominate the Ummah, and to exploit and appropriate its wealth.
The appointment of the Umayyad movement for ruling Sham at that time benefited the movement and made it possible for it to move while enjoying great capabilities and using Sham as a base from which it would move to control the Islamic world according to a devilish plan that involved the use of military action, polarization through financial enticement, propaganda war, and misleading titles as well as exploiting the low level of awareness of lots of the sons of the Ummah.
So their first step was animosity and war against the Commander of Believers and Master of Guardians, Ali ibn Abi Talib (PBUH), at a time he was the Caliph of Muslims appointed by an unprecedented consensus in the reality of the Ummah, not to mention his great position in Islam. He is the one whose position to the Prophet (PBUH&F) is 'like the position of Aaron to Moses; except for prophecy, as mentioned in that hadith narrated by a large number of narrators of diverse sects among the Ummah, and whose walaia is an extension to that of the Prophet (PBUH&F).
As in the widely transmitted Hadith of Ghadir, loving Imam Ali is a sign of faith, and hating him is a sign of hypocrisy—an authentic hadith accepted by all Muslims. He is also the foremost, greatest, purest, most established in guidance, and most complete in
this Ummah, and he is the one who fought against the misinterpretation of the Quran, just as the Prophet Muhammad had fought for its revelation. He also fought alongside the Prophet (PBUH&F) for that same purpose, as the Prophet (PBUH&F) informed us.
Despite all of this, the tyrants of the Umayyad dynasty harbored intense animosity towards him and engineered three major wars against him. They incited sedition, weakened the Islamic Ummah from within, and launched raids to kill Muslims in Yemen, where they cold-bloodedly executed thirty thousand Yemenis, enslaved women, and sold them in markets, and they also carried out raids in other areas of Iraq, the Hijaz, and elsewhere, committing the most heinous crimes and killing children, adults, and elderly people.
Their victims were tens of thousands of members of the Ummah, including the cream of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&F), foremost among them was the martyr of Islam and the pure and virtuous one, as the Prophet called him, Ammar ibn Yasir (May Allah be pleased with him).
The Prophet informed people about his martyrdom and that he would be killed by the rebellious group who will call him to the Fire, while he will call them to Jannah. The tyrants of the Umayyad dynasty continued in their despicable and criminal plots, culminating in their catastrophic plan to assassinate the Commander of the Believers (PBUH) through the most wretched person in the Ummah, Ibn Muljam (May Allah curse him), in the mosque of Kufa, in the early dawn of the 19th night of the blessed month of
Ramadan, 40 AH. On the 21st night of the blessed month, the Commander of the Believers (PBUH) left this life as a martyr and joined the highest company, leading to a terrible loss for the Ummah. After the martyrdom of the Commander of the Believers
(PBUH), the grandsons of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&F), Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein (Peace be upon them), became the authentic extension of Islam and the source of guidance and leadership for the Ummah.
They held a great position and a high rank in Islam, as expressed by the Prophet (PBUH&F) in his saying, 'Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein are the masters of the youth of Jannah.
The tyrants of the Umayyad dynasty continued to carry the banner of aggression, division, and hypocrisy. They fought against Imam Al-Hasan Al-Mujtaba, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&F), who did not only suffer from the strife fueled by the Umayyad dynasty and their fierce war but also from immense treachery from his own companions, betrayal from within his army, and assassination attempts. Eventually, in 50 AH, he was martyred as a victim of injustice when they plotted to assassinate him with poison.
Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) continued to exert his utmost effort to revive and awaken the Ummah and to raise its awareness during a time of great suffering. The Ummah was afflicted with a state of inaction and apathy, and fear had paralyzed many Muslims to the
point where the tyrants of the Umayyad dynasty were emboldened to take an extremely dangerous step against Islam and Muslims: They appointed Yazid ibn Muawiya (May Allah curse him) as the ruler over the Islamic world, despite all his criminality,
immorality, tyranny, and disrespect for Islam. Regarding this, Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) said,The Islamic Ummah should resign itself to the loss of Islam if it finds itself ruled by a ruler like Yazid.
Despite that, one of the main goals of the tyrants of the Umayyad dynasty and their followers was to secure Yazid's rule over the Ummah by forcing Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) to pledge allegiance to him, for they wanted to make sure that no one would
oppose them after that. They asked Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) to pledge allegiance to Yazid through their governor in Medina, but he said to them, 'We are the family of prophethood, the substance of the [Divine] Message, and the ones visited by the angels. Allah initiates by us, and so does he conclude. Yazid is a wine drinker, a killer of the prohibitive soul, a man who commits sins in the open. A man like me does not pledge allegiance to a man like him.
Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) took action to confront that step, so he headed towards Mecca due to the lack of support in Medina. His intention was to meet with Muslims from various Islamic regions, raise their awareness, remind them of their responsibility, and
highlight the danger of Yazid's control. However, the initial signs of support only came from Iraq, particularly from the people of Kufa, their leaders, and some from the people of Basra. They sent messages and delegations to Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) in Mecca, expressing their rejection of the appointment of the criminal Yazid as the leader of the Ummah, and they pledged their allegiance, loyalty, and support to Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH), entering into covenants and agreements to that effect. He (PBUH) then sent his cousin Muslim ibn Aqeel to assess the situation, confirm their stance, and strengthen their commitment. When Muslim ibn Aqeel found their response, enthusiasm, and pledges to be consistent with their messages, he wrote to Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) about this. Then, Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) set out from Mecca towards Iraq along with his family and loyal companions. However, after the arrival of the criminal Ibn Ziyad, who was serving Yazid, at Kufa, some people started wavering in their support for Muslim ibn Aqeel, until he was martyred alone and isolated.
Then, the armies were mobilized to fight the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&F) outside of Kufa. In Karbala and before reaching Kufa, Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) was with his family and seventy of his companions and found himself in front of
thousands of those who were mobilized to fight him under the leadership by Omar ibn Saad (May Allah curse him). He was given the choice between surrendering and submitting to Yazid or going to war and being killed. He took the decisive position that
his great faith required of him and sacrificed for the sake of Islam and the good of the Ummah, as he was aware of the danger of submitting to Yazid and that such submission could lead to the erasure of Islamic landmarks and constant submission of the Ummah to the criminals and tyrants. He made the decision to stand firm in his right position and said his famous words: 'By Allah, I swear, I will neither extend my hand to offer a handshake for humiliating allegiance, nor will I pledge allegiance like a slave; He also said that he was given only two options: humiliation or death, and his answer was this: 'How far it is
from us to be humiliated! Allah, His Messenger, and the believers refuse that for us.
In the Battle of Karbala, the grandson of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&F) and his family, along with a small loyal group, suffered a severe siege: He, his women and children, and his companions were deprived of even a sip of water. The enemy forces
launched a brutal attack on them. In that situation, Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) and his companions presented the greatest lessons for the Ummah throughout its history in demonstrating unwavering commitment to right, loyalty to Islam, and self-sacrifice for the sake of Allah, in prioritizing obedience to Allah, and in shouldering responsibility. Islam manifested its great principles, values, and ethics through his admirable stance, as well as the stance of his family and companions. This exemplifies the blessed verse that
says, And among the people is he who sells himself, seeking the pleasure of Allah. And Allah is kind to [His] servants[Al-Baqarah 2:207].
When the ugly and ignorant face of Umayyad tyranny was exposed and after the martyrdom of the grandson of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&F), the path of renaissance and awakening emerged, and the state of inaction changed. The Umayyad
tyranny persisted in continuing its oppression of the Ummah, violating its sanctities, and committing the most heinous crimes. One of those crimes was the attack on the city of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&F) and the desecration of everything within it for three days: They killed people, both men and women, young and old, even newborn infants, and they raped women, plundered properties, and desecrated the sanctity of the Prophet;s Mosque (PBUH&F), as they killed people even on the Prophet;s honorable grave until it was drenched in blood. They then forced the survivors, who escaped being killed, to pledge allegiance to Yazid, subjecting them to slavery and servitude and declaring themas slaves who have no right to object to what Yazid wants to do to them and their wealth. They also attacked the holy city of Mecca, violating the sanctity of the Kaaba and targeting it with catapults to burn and demolish it. The Umayyads committed this in two of their wars against Mecca, and people were killed in the Sacred Mosque! The series of brutal and criminal bloodshed continued in their unbounded oppression of the Ummah.
Under the Umayyad rule, a governor named Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf executed one hundred and twenty thousand Muslims in cold blood, not to mention those who were killed in the battlefield. When this same ruler died, there were seventy thousand prisoners in his
prison, awaiting execution without guilt. Among them were 30,000 women, including 16,000 naked and stripped of their clothes in prison. He would chain every ten prisoners together in a single chain, and they would remain inside the prisons without toilets or
baths, defecating and urinating in their own places, both men and women, and sitting without cloths in front of each other! Other governors followed the same method, although the level of the number of killings and prisoners varied. The Umayyad king would shed the blood of anyone who advised him to fear Allah, and he announced this to the Muslims during the Hajj, saying, 'By Allah, I will strike the neck of anyone who orders me to fear Allah.; A state like this is clearly stated in Allah;s saying, {And when it
is said to him, fear Allah, pride in the sin takes hold of him. Sufficient for him is Jahannam, and how wretched is the resting place}[Al-Baqarah 2:206]. They also distorted religious concepts, seized the public revenues of the Ummah, and deprived it of
its wealth.
The Ummah eventually found that it had no choice but to take serious action and launch a decisive revolution to free itself from the Umayyad tyranny. This was achieved after a series of revolutions and many sacrifices due to the extent of Umayyad control and
influence resulted from the negligence and surrender of many members of the Ummah. Many of the sons of the Ummah were held back by fear, influenced by a lack of awareness and weak faith, or easy for the Umayyad tyrants to entice with money and
positions due to the state of misery, poverty, and deprivation that the Ummah suffered from as a result of their looting of its wealth and seizure of public revenues. The cause of Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) is what represents Islam and the Quran. It is the
truth to be followed, the resistance against falsehood, the salvation of the oppressed, the opposition to arrogant tyrants, and the confrontation of the unjust. Therefore, it is an eternal cause that extends across generations until the end of time, and your position from Imam Al-Hussein's uprising reflects your position from Islam and your sense of
responsibility.
In this era, the Ummah faces Yazidi tyranny, evil, and crime represented in the Zionist Jewish lobby, America, Israel, and their allies and accomplices. Their war against the Holy Quran has become explicit, and what the Jewish lobby does through its proxies in several European and Western countries, such as burning, tearing, and desecrating the Holy Quran, represents the highest level of Kufr and aggression against Islam and Muslims. Their satanic efforts, led openly by America, to promote heinous obscenity,
sexual deviance, and all steps that lead to obscenity and strike moral values are a crowning achievement of their deviation in human societies from the path of Allah, His guidance, His messengers, and His prophets. This is with the aim of subjugating and
enslaving humans, seducing them, and fully controlling them after corrupting them and stripping them their humanity and human dignity. This is an addition to their wars, sieges, continuous attacks, and using wars, means of inciting discord, sieges, looting of wealth, and starvation to target peoples, just as they do in Palestine and what they do against our people in Yemen and others in other parts of the Islamic world through various methodsNothing can put an end to the persistence of the forces of evil, crime, and tyranny except paying serious effort that reflects awareness and a sense of responsibility and is accompanied by having trust in Allah and relying on Him. The steadfastness of our dear Yemeni people over the past nine years of blockade, war, propaganda campaigns, and efforts to incite internal discord and divert attention from important issues to other matters, is a great divine success, goes in line with true Islam, and follows the path of the great role models, including Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him). Through steadfastness, patience, awareness, practical effort, and obedience to Allah, victory and Allah;s promise
become attainable, as He said in His Holy Book, {'And it is incumbent upon Us to aid the believers;}[Ar-Rum 30:47].
From here, we affirm the following:
Firstly, we call upon the sons of our Islamic Ummah in all Islamic countries to take a firm and serious stance that rises to the level of responsibility against the enemies due to what they are committing against the Holy Quran, including insulting, burning, tearing, and desecrating it. The least that can be done in this regard is to sever diplomatic relations and impose economic boycotts. If the stance of the Ummah does not rise to this simple, available, and possible level, this can only be seen as a major shortcoming and a state of gross negligence, indifference to the Holy Quran, and denial of responsibility towards the most sacred of the Muslims' sanctities. This will also lead to serious consequences.
I also advise and warn Western societies in Europe and elsewhere that the Zionist Jewishlobby is pushing you towards the abyss: It is pushing you to where you incur the wrath, anger, and punishment of Allah (Glory be to Him). It has succeeded in making you
deviate from the values of His prophets and from His message and pushing you into insulting Allah and His prophets and books, while you prevent any criticism of the Jews! This is a bad, backward, and terrible state and reflects a terrible state of slavery to the
Zionist Jewish lobby!
I urge you to break free from slavery to the Jews, act as free people, return to the divine message, and follow the prophets. What you have reached in terms of your denial of innate human values and morals that Allah has instilled in people is disgraceful. The
reality that human society is experiencing is a dangerous, critical, and sensitive reality, and the reality of Western societies is driving the whole world into a very serious state. This barbaric civilization that has denied values and morals and turned its back to all Islamic and divine principles, as well as legal constraints, is indifferent to what it has done to people. The reality that all humans in the world are facing as a result of what they call 'global warming and environmental spoilation' is a result of deviating from those values and denying divine principles.
Western civilization is a barbaric civilization in every sense of the word: It denies morals, values, and human dignity, and it oppresses and buses others and acts unjustly towards others, without respecting the sanctity of what is right or sacredness of holy things.
If Western societies do not heed the message of Allah and His prophets, this will bring them into a dangerous state of incurring the wrath and anger of Allah and facing in this world and the Hereafter the negative consequences of their denial of Allah's teachings.
I call on them to follow the guidance of the Quran, to reconsider their way of dealing with the Holy Quran, and to embrace Islam, as it is the only means of salvation for human societies in this critical stage in human history.
Secondly, I affirm our principled stance towards the Palestinian cause and the dear Palestinian people. We have sought to strengthen cooperation and coordination with our brothers in the Palestinian resistance and our brothers in the axis of jihad and resistance. We hope that cooperation and coordination in the axis of jihad and resistance increases in a way that ensures the achievement of the desired goal of purifying Palestine and saving the Palestinian people from the clutches of the Israeli enemy.
We also affirm our solidarity with the peoples of our Ummah in the oppression they face in Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, and all Islamic lands.
I call on the coalition of aggression to stop its aggression against our country, lift the blockade and occupation, and address the files of war regarding war prisoners, reconstruction, and damage. I also call on them to stop their despicable conspiracies
aimed at taking parts of our country.
Thirdly, I call on our dear people to remain constantly prepared, vigilant, and alert and be ready to continue to confront the enemies to deter them from continuing their aggression and to save our country from their evil, tyranny, and conspiracies. Let us take inspiration from the school of Islam and its righteous leaders, including the master of martyrs and his companions, and learn from it lessons of steadfastness, faithfulness, awareness, and insight.
May Allah multiply your reward for your presence and expression of condolences.
Peace be upon the grandson of the Messenger of Allah, his family, and his martyred companions.
Peace be upon the martyrs of truth, at all times and everywhere.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
May Allah reward you and appreciate your effort.
Thank you for this honorable presence. May Allah protect you.
