TAIZ Aug 03. 2023 (SABA) - The Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Amin Al-Masawi, laid the foundation stone for the project to build the Al-Shumoukh Center for Community Education, Literacy and Adult Education in the Al-Qarama area, Al-Janadyah al-ʿOlya district in Al-Ta’iziyah district, Taiz governorate, funded by the Social Fund for Development, at a cost of 115 thousand euros, a grant from the German government.
During the laying of the foundation stone, in the presence of the Undersecretary of Taiz Governorate, Ismail Sharaf al-Din, and the Director General of Al-Ta’iziyah district, Abd al-Khaliq al-Junaid, Al-Masawi stressed the importance of such educational projects to combat illiteracy and educate adults for those who missed the education train.
He pointed out that eradicating illiteracy will contribute to producing a generation capable of reading and writing and armed with faith, wisdom and Quranic culture, praising the role of the Social Fund for Development and the leadership of the Literacy Agency for adopting such projects.
For his part, the director of the branch of the Literacy and Adult Education Authority in the governorate, Fikri Muhammad Dabwan, explained that the project will contribute to strengthening the educational process.
While the deputy director of the Social Fund in the governorate, Eng. Muhammad Abdullah Murshid, indicated that the project will be completed within 4 months, according to the approved engineering specifications and standards.
