
SANA'A August 31. 2023 (Saba)-The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation(SCMCHA), Ibrahim Al-Hamli, met today with the Regional Director of the (WFP)World Food Program for the Middle East and North Africa Corinne Fleischer, who is currently visiting Yemen.
During the meeting, aspects of cooperation between Yemen and the program in the humanitarian field were discussed, and the human suffering that the Yemeni people are experiencing as a result of the aggression ,siege, their repercussions, the pressure and systematic starvation policy exerted by the aggression countries.
In the meeting, SCMCHA reviewed the growing challenges and needs of the Yemeni people in light of nearly nine years of aggression and siege, which caused the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, in addition to the disastrous repercussions of reducing aid.
He called on the Food Program to intensify its efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected , to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and their great tragedy as a result of the aggression ,siege, and not by reducing aid.
In turn, the regional director of the Food Program confirmed that the program faces great challenges in financing, calling on the Council to cooperate with the program in facing these challenges.
