Amran Cement Factory approves a reduction in the price of cement

AMRAN September 11. 2023 (Saba) - The meeting of the Marketing Council at the Amran Cement Factory in its meeting on Monday, headed by the Executive Director of the Council - General Manager of the Factory, Engineer Abdel Fattah Ismail, approved reducing the price of cement.

The meeting decided to reduce the price of a bag of cement to 3,500 riyals, and the price of bulk cement per ton to 67,000 riyals.

Engineer Abdel Fattah confirmed that reducing the actual value of cement, which is one of the basic materials necessary for construction, construction work and project implementation, comes within the framework of preserving the status of the Amran cement factory users.

He stated that reducing cement prices takes into account the conditions that the Yemeni people are experiencing as a result of the continued aggression and siege and the reality of local markets.

The director of the Amran Cement Factory considered the reduction in the price of cement as an opportunity to open the field of competition with the foreign cement importing sectors that compete with the national cement, despite the commitments and expenses incurred by the factory.

He expressed his aspiration to develop performance to expand and improve work in the factory and raise its production capacity in the future within the plan and strategy that he seeks to achieve with the implementation of a third production line from one million and 500 thousand tons to more than two million tons annually and expanding the design production capacity of the factory to ensure confidence in the existing national industries on local raw materials.

He pointed out that the current work on the coal combustion system project contributed to reducing production costs, contributed to competitiveness, and increased the market share of the factory’s production.

Engineer Abdel Fattah Ismail called on the relevant authorities to take the necessary measures to activate the competition law and ensure the sustainability of national factories in supplying the local market and supplying it with the product that will enhance the competitive capabilities between national cement factories.

He also confirmed that the factory bore heavy burdens and obligations after converting the factory’s operation from burning with high-cost diesel fuel to burning with coal.
