The spokesman explained "Five Iranian prisoners will be exchanged for five American prisoners and Iran's funds frozen in South Korea will return to our country," noting that "the agreement to exchange prisoners and return Iranian funds has been implemented well and step by step."

Kanaani described the release of Iranian assets frozen in Britain after several years as “a great success,” noting that “some of our property and resources in South Korea were frozen as a result of the repressive measures of the United States and the pressure it exerted on some of Iran’s partners, and today this property is at Iran’s disposal.” "Completely."

On September 12, the Iranian mission to the United Nations announced “the release of five Iranian nationals who were imprisoned on illegal charges of circumventing the American embargo.”
