The Russia Today website quoted the ministry in a statement as saying "Given London's adoption of an anti-Russian approach, within which the mechanism of personal sanctions is widely used and comprehensive support is provided to the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev," a decision was taken to expand the "banned list" from entry into Russia, by including 23 other people representing the military-political establishment, the press and the scientific community in Britain."

The statement added among those who will be included in the Russian “stop list” from now on is British Chief of Staff Anthony Radakin, who “supervises the training of Ukrainian armed forces fighters on British soil,” and Madeleine Alessandri, head of the British government’s Joint Intelligence Committee, who participated in drafting the report. London's strategy on the Ukrainian path, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the British defense company BAE Systems, Cressida Hogg.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also imposed personal restrictions on employees of a number of British political science centers “participating in collecting and analyzing information to fight Russia,” such as the Royal United Institute for Defense Studies, the Henry Jackson Foundation, and the Civitas Institute for Analysis.
