MOSCOW November 30. 2023 (Saba) - On Thursday, the official spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, expressed Russia's gratitude and thanks to the leadership of Hamas for the release of the two Russian prisoners and will work to quickly release the rest of the captured Russians.

Zakharova said, in a statement published on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry: “According to what was agreed upon with the Hamas leadership, our compatriots, Elena Trufanova and Irina Tati, who were prisoners in the Gaza Strip, were released on November 29.”

She confirmed that the two Russian citizens were able to return to their homes without complying with the implementation of the conditions agreed upon between “Israel” and Hamas to exchange some captive women and children with Palestinian prisoners in Zionist prisons.

Zakharova added: "We are grateful to the Hamas leadership for responding to our urgent appeals. We will continue to press for the early release of the remaining Russian prisoners in the Gaza Strip."

Russian media quoted a source in Hamas today, saying: The movement intends to release ten Zionist prisoners today, including two who hold Russian citizenship.

A few days ago, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, handed over a prisoner holding Russian citizenship to the Red Cross, as part of the third batch of the exchange deal with the Zionist enemy.

The movement stated, in a statement, that “in response to the efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin and in appreciation of the Russian position in support of the Palestinian cause, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas released a prisoner who holds Russian citizenship.”

It is noteworthy that in the past six days, six batches of prisoner exchanges took place between the resistance in Gaza and the Zionist enemy, within the terms of the truce, which stipulates the release of three Palestinian prisoners from enemy prisons in exchange for every Zionist prisoner held by the resistance in Gaza.
