Meeting discusses Ports Corporation’s facilities for merchants in Hodeida Port

HODEIDA December 10. 2023 (Saba)-A meeting held today,Sunday, in Sana'a, headed by the Minister of Transport in the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, discussed the facilities provided by the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation to merchants in Hodeida port.

The meeting, which included the President of the Chamber of Commerce in the Capital Secretariat, Ali Al-Hadi, his deputy, Mohamed Salah, members of the Chamber, and a number of businessmen and merchants, reviewed the results of the field visit to the Ports Corporation and the meetings with its leadership, the Chamber, the shipping companies, the concerned authorities assigned to the port, the land transport office in Hodeida, and the facilities provided by the Corporation and the customs and specifications branches.

And standards and quality to complete the transactions of merchants and importers, which contributes to attracting and flowing more ships and cargo containers to revitalize the navigation and commercial movement in the province.

The meeting touched on the level of flow of container ships to Hodeida Port and the speed of their unloading around the clock.

At the meeting Durra praised , the role of the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Shipping was to coordinate between the public and private sectors by notifying importers of their presence , completing transactions, and the cooperation of all concerned parties in the Ports Corporation, branches of departments, authorities and banks to complete them in record time.

He pointed out that the Corporation has technical and professional competencies working to accomplish technical and administrative tasks in cooperation with customs, specifications, standards, quality and other relevant authorities in Hodeida port and the ports affiliated with the Corporation.

In turn, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry praised the leadership of Transport Ministry and the Ports Corporation in providing facilities and completing transactions for merchants and importers.
