ANKARA February 21. 2024 (Saba) -Today, Wednesday, Turkey announced the success of the first flight of the fifth-generation fighter aircraft, “Kan,” one of the most important technological projects in the country, which was implemented by the Turkish Aerospace Industries Company.
All CAN flight tests have been completed, including ejection seat tests, full static tests, inertia and stability tests of control surfaces, landing gear drop tests, avionics system tests in the System Integration Laboratory, fuel tests, and engine start-up tests.
The CAN fighters are expected to begin operating in 2028. They are invisible warplanes and one of Turkey's most important weapons. Its wingspan is 14 metres, its height is six metres, and its length is 21 metres. Its maximum speed reaches 2,205 km, and it operates at altitudes of more than 16 km.
One of its important features is that it can carry weapons inside the body and provide strategic air-to-air and air-to-surface attack.
