GAZA February 24. 2024 (Saba) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that “overthrowing UNRWA means stopping the organization that defends the rights of Palestinian refugees,” stressing that Zionist pressure on the agency makes its work almost impossible in the Gaza Strip.
The agency said in a statement on Saturday: About 70 percent of aid trucks that enter Gaza Strip daily are not enough to meet the needs of the people and the displaced.
It added: No other organizations or institutions can replace the role that the agency plays in the Strip.
The UN agency indicated that the markets in Gaza Strip are empty of consumer goods.
The agency continued: "We are facing critical weeks, and alternatives must be found to fund the agency."
UNRWA Commissioner-General
Philippe Lazzarini had warned, in a letter addressed to the President of the United Nations General Assembly, that the agency had reached a “breaking point.”
It is noteworthy that 16 countries suspended their funding to UNRWA, which amounts to $450 million, following Zionist allegations accusing 12 of its employees of involvement in the attacks of last October 7.
