SAO PAULO February 28. 2024 (Saba) - US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has warned of expanding the war in the Gaza Strip between the Zionist enemy and the Palestinian resistance into a regional conflict.
Yellen said in a press conference, prior to the G20 meeting in Sao Paulo, Brazil, that the expansion of the war and its transformation into a regional conflict “will pose a threat to global economic prospects.”
She pointed out that "what the Zionist enemy is doing has a negative impact on the Palestinian economy and on the Zionist entity itself, adding her country is closely monitoring the situation."
The US Secretary claimed in her statements that Washington “supports the World Bank’s pledges to provide emergency food security assistance in Gaza, in addition to economic support for the West Bank.”
Yellen's statements come in light of the continued American support for the Zionist war on Gaza, and the state of escalation that it is fueling, especially the operations of the Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, where Sana'a confirms that navigation movement is guaranteed, except for Zionist ships or those heading to enemy ports, until the aggression against Gaza.
It is noteworthy that Yemeni operations recently included American and British ships as a result of the renewed aggression launched by these two countries against Yemen.
