NEW YORK February 28. 2024 (Saba) -At request from Algeria, Guiana, Switzerland and Slovenia, the UN Security Council held an open session to discuss the state of food security in Gaza Strip, the Algerian foreign ministry said.
Earlier, the UN warned of the food insecurity that reached "very critical" levels in Gaza Strip.
According to Gaza civil defense, the Zionist persistent prevention of food and medicine inflow to the Strip puts the life of over 700,000 Palestinians in jeopardy.
With the Israeli continuous bombing, Gaza Strip is experiencing very hard conditions amounting to famine, the Deputy-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs said in a memo to the UNSC.
