12 Fishermen return to Al-Salif Fish Center after month of kidnapping

HODEIDA February 28.2024 (Saba) - Yesterday evening, 12 fishermen returned to Al-Salif Fish Center after a month of kidnapping and detention in the prisons of the Saudi aggression state.

The fishermen explained that while they were practicing fishing in Yemeni marine waters on board a “Jalabah” boat, they experienced engine malfunctions, which caused them to continue moving towards the wind until a Saudi enemy patrol detained them and took them to its prisons.

They confirmed that the days they spent in Saudi prisons during which they were subjected to investigations and poor treatment by those in charge of them, despite their certainty of the malfunctions and difficult conditions to which they were exposed.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Red Sea Fisheries Authority, Abdul-Malik Sabra, pointed out that the kidnapping of fishermen is part of the criminal practices of the Saudi enemy and the repeated violations against Yemeni fishermen.

He called on the United Nations and organizations working on the humanitarian side to play their role and work to stop the crimes of kidnapping Yemeni fishermen and the torture they are subjected to, whether in Saudi prisons or the prisons of its mercenaries in Eritrea.
