SANA'A March 02. 2024 (Saba) - The Ministry of Transport and the Maritime Affairs Authority affirmed keenness on the security and safety of submarine cables in Yemeni waters in accordance with international laws, charters and agreements.
The Ministry and the Authority indicated in a statement received by Saba a copy of it, that the Republic of Yemen is very keen on the security and safety of submarine cables in Yemeni waters and the interests of the countries associated with them, out of respect for international laws, conventions and treaties, and the common interests between Yemen and other countries.
The statement stressed that America and Britain are using hostile and illegal methods in their war on Yemen in order to serve the Zionist enemy to continue committing genocide against the Palestinian in Gaza.
He pointed out that the hostilities on Yemen by the British and US naval military units caused a disruption in the submarine cables in the Red Sea, which jeopardized the security and safety of international communications and the normal flow of information.
The statement pointed out that these hostile acts pose a major challenge to the stability of the telecommunications infrastructure and negatively affect the technical, information and technical services that depend on these cables around the world.
He considered cutting the submarine cables an unacceptable and condemned act by Yemen and all the countries of the world as it is a criminal and illegal act. He stressed that the Israeli enemy, America and Britain have been seeking, since the beginning of their illegal operations in the Red Sea, to provoke the situation with their false claims regarding submarine cables.
The statement pointed to what the international telecommunications company Internet service provider confirmed in a statement that Sanaa has nothing to do with the damage to submarine Internet cables in the Red Sea, denying reports that promote this.
Submarine cables are a major artery and a vital part of the global communications infrastructure, which plays a crucial role in the flow of information and providing effective communication between countries.
The Ministry of Transport and the Maritime Affairs Authority in Sana'a pointed out that any malfunction in these cables as a result of the militarization of the Red Sea by US and British naval vessels represents a serious threat to information security and economic and social stability for all countries of the world.
They affirmed their readiness to provide all services and grant the necessary permits to companies that own Internet services to repair and maintain defects in submarine cables in the Red Sea.
