North Korea says all its missiles will be converted to solid fuel
[03/ April/2024]
PYONGYANG April 03. 2024 (Saba) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced at dawn on Wednesday that all of his country's missiles would be converted to solid fuel and the ability to make nuclear weapons.

North Korean Central News Agency quoted Jong Un as saying: “The successful test of the Hwasong-16 missile confirms that all strategic missiles are now solid-fueled, capable of carrying nuclear warheads, and equipped with controllable warheads.”

North Korea announced that it had successfully conducted a test of a new intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) equipped with a high-speed warhead, noting that all missiles developed by the country now operate on solid fuel and are capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

Yesterday, the South Korean Ministry of Defense announced that North Korea launched a medium-range ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan, in the latest test in a series of weapons tests conducted by Pyongyang this year.

Hours later, South Korea, the United States and Japan conducted a joint air exercise that included nuclear-capable bombers.

Pyongyang has been subject to a series of sanctions since its second nuclear test in 2009, but it has nevertheless continued to develop its nuclear programs and weapons.

Since the beginning of this year, Pyongyang has identified South Korea as its "main enemy" and threatened to wage war if it violates even a millimeter of its territory.

Pyongyang always asserts that all of its military activities come in response to provocations by South Korea, which conducts regular exercises with the United States and Japan, in what appears to be preparation for an attack against it.
