MADRID May 17. 2024 (Saba) -The Spanish University of Granada (UGR) announced on Friday that it has decided to suspend cooperation with Zionist universities and institutions until the war against the Gaza Strip stops.
Her decision was part of a firm commitment to peace, social justice, the protection of human rights and cooperation among peoples.
The decision included the suspension of the movement of incoming and departing students, faculty members, research, technical, administrative and service staff with Zionist universities.
The decision also included the suspension of teaching agreements and summer courses signed with Ban-Ilan University and Tel Aviv University, and not signing new agreements or participating in new international academic cooperation projects with Zionist universities.
Footage showed the moment pro-Palestine students celebrated the decision.
The resolution also stressed the need to intensify relations with Palestinian universities and cooperate with non-governmental organizations working on the ground to help and host Palestinian students and researchers.
