SANA'A May 21. 2024 (Saba) - The Grand Mufti of Yemen, Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, the Caretaker Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Muhammad al-Bukhaiti, and the Mayor of the Capital, Hamoud Abbad, inspected today,Tuesday, the progress of work on the solar energy station project at Dhahban Generating Station, which is being implemented by the General Electricity Corporation.
Sharaf Al-Din, Al-Bukhaiti and Abbad, along with the First Undersecretary of the Municipality, Khaled Al-Madani, were briefed on the construction work carried out, the preparation of the iron bases, the supply and installation of solar energy panels with a nominal generating capacity of 2.5 megawatts, funded by the Capital Municipality.
They heard from the Deputy Director of the Corporation for Distribution and Technical Inspection, Engineer Muhammad Al-Shaibani, an explanation about the percentage of completion, the implementation of preparing work , installing three thousand and 794 solar panels.
He explained that 78 percent of the civil works and about 55 percent of the total targeted works in the project have been completed, expecting the station to open within two to three months.
In turn, Sharaf al-Din, al-Bukhaiti, Abbad, and al-Madani stressed the importance of this project, which comes in implementation of the directives of the Revolution Leader and the head of the Supreme Political Council to light streets, gardens, and parks in the secretariat.
