Ireland officially recognises Palestinian state
[28/ May/2024]
DUBLIN May 28. 2024 (Saba) - The Republic of Ireland announced on Tuesday the official recognition of the State of Palestine, and urged the Prime Minister of the Zionist enemy Benjamin Netanyahu to "listen to the world and stop the humanitarian catastrophe we see in Gaza."

This morning, Norway and Spain officially recognized the State of Palestine.

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris said in a statement: "We would have liked to recognise the State of Palestine at the conclusion of a peace process, but we have taken this step alongside Spain and Norway to keep the miracle of peace alive."

The three European countries announced the move simultaneously last week, with their leaders saying they hoped other countries would join the initiative, stressing that it would boost prospects for peace.

Together with Spain, Norway and Ireland, the number of countries recognizing the State of Palestine rises to 147, out of 193 member states of the UN General Assembly.

The tripartite recognition by countries with political weight in the European Union in particular and at the global level comes at an important and decisive time, in light of the ongoing Zionist aggression, genocide and massacres against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and in parallel with the diplomatic movement led by Palestine and the countries of the world that believe in a just peace and the need to end the occupation, at the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.
