Tehran: No evidence of sabotage in Raisi's helicopter crash
[30/ May/2024]
TEHRAN May 30. 2024 (Saba) - The Iranian General Staff has announced the absence of evidence indicating electronic interference or sabotage in the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of the country's President Ibrahim Raisi and his entourage in northwest Iran last week.

According to the General Staff's report, exhaustive examinations have yielded no evidence of electronic tampering or technical malfunctions contributing to the helicopter's fatal plunge. Despite meticulous scrutiny of repair records and maintenance logs, no deficiencies have been uncovered that could have precipitated the catastrophic event.

Officials affirm that communication with the aircraft remained intact until a mere 69 seconds prior to the crash, dispelling any notions of signal disruption or frequency interference. They assert that the prevailing weather conditions at the time of departure from Tabriz were conducive to safe flight operations, assuring compliance with visual flight rules.

However, as investigations progress, authorities pledge further scrutiny, including interviews with pilots and a thorough review of additional documentation. Specialized teams have been tasked with scrutinizing data until conclusive determinations regarding the crash's cause are reached.

Tehran remains steadfast in its assertion that foul play played no part in the tragic demise of President Rouhani and his companions, emphasizing their commitment to uncovering the truth behind this devastating loss.
