NEW YORK June 01. 2024 (Saba) - The US police in New York arrested a number of activists during a protest organized by pro-Palestine protesters and opponents of the ongoing Zionist aggression on Gaza.
Last night, local media reports said that protesters took control of parts of the Brooklyn Museum in New York City, hung a banner above the main entrance, occupied a large part of the lobby, and clashed with police.
A New York Police spokesman said: Officials will not have an accurate count of the detainees before hours.
The management of the art museum announced its closure an hour before the scheduled time, due to disturbances and skirmishes between police and protesters inside and outside the building.
An eyewitness said: Hundreds of protesters were walking in Brooklyn when some of them rushed towards the entrance of the museum, and despite security guards preventing many protesters from entering, some succeeded in doing so.
Participants hung a banner above the new classical facade that read (Free Palestine, Stop the Genocide)
