Pilgrims flock to Mina to spend the eighth day of Dhu al-Hijjah
[14/ June/2024]

MAKKAH June 14. 2024 (Saba) - Today, Friday, the eighth of Dhu al-Hijjah, pilgrims begin arriving in Mina to spend the "Day of the eighth of Dhul-Hijjah", following the Sunnah of our master Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (may God bless him and his family and grant him peace), before setting off at night towards Arafat.

In Mina, pilgrims will spend the day of Tarwiyah, the first stop of the Hajj after Ihram, which lasts for six days.

This follows the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) who was supplied with water before performing Hajj.

On the day of recitation, pilgrims spend their time praying, remembrance, meditation, and repeating the Hajj response: "Labbaika Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaika la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak (Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner).

They also pray in Mina the five daily prayers without gathering, and stay there before heading to Upper Arafa after sunrise on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah.

Tomorrow, the ninth Saturday of Dhu al-Hijjah, pilgrims will head to Arafa to stand at its pure level, where they will pray noon and afternoon in combination and shortly, and from there they will head to Muzdalifah where they will stay overnight.

On the morning of the tenth day (Eid al-Adha), pilgrims return to Mina to throw the ember of the Great Aqaba, then shave their heads or shorten and slaughter the guidance marking the smaller decomposition, and head to the Kaaba to perform Tawaf al-Ifadah.

The pilgrims then return to Mina to spend the days of Tashreeq, and after their end they head to Mecca to perform the farewell tawaf, which concludes the rituals of Hajj.

On Thursday, pilgrims performed the Tawaf of Arrival upon their arrival in Mecca at the beginning of their rituals.

Located between Makkah and Muzdalifah, seven kilometers northeast of the Grand Mosque, Mina is a valley surrounded by mountains on the northern and southern sides, and is inhabited only during the Hajj.

Mina has a special religious status among Muslims, in this place, the Prophet of God Ibrahim (peace be upon him) threw the devil with embers, and slaughtered the ransom of our master Ismail, peace be upon him.

The Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him and his family) confirmed this act in the farewell pilgrimage, where he threw the ember of Aqaba or the Great Jamrah on the morning of the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, and slaughtered the guidance after throwing the Jamarat, and shaved his hair on the same day, and after him the Muslims enacted his Sunnah and slaughtered their Jamarat and shaved.
