UNRWA: More than 50,000 children in Gaza need treatment for acute malnutrition
[15/ June/2024]

NEW YORK June 15. 2024 (Saba) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) says more than 50,000 children in the Gaza Strip need treatment for acute malnutrition.

UNRWA said on platform X on Saturday that with continued restrictions on aid, Gazans continue to face "desperate levels of hunger," noting that its teams are working tirelessly to reach families with aid, "but the situation is catastrophic."

It is noteworthy that the humanitarian situation and the suffering of citizens in the Gaza Strip are worsening and increasing day by day, as a result of the occupation forces' continued closure of crossings, stopping the flow of humanitarian aid and medical supplies, and depriving thousands of patients and injured from traveling abroad for treatment.

The Zionist enemy forces have continued their aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since the seventh of October 2023, resulting in the death of more than 37,296 citizens, and the injury of 85,197 others, in an indefinite toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble.
