Iranian presidential election voting period extended by two hours

TEHRAN June 28 . 2024 (Saba) - Iran's election commission announced the extension of the presidential election voting period by two hours in the country.

Iran's election commission said it had extended "the voting period for the presidential election by two hours until eight o'clock in the evening in the country."

The voting process began in the fourteenth presidential elections, at eight o'clock in the morning on Friday at polling stations nationwide and abroad.

The secretary of the National Elections Commission and its spokesman, Mohsen Eslami, said on Thursday that the number of polling stations inside the Islamic Republic of Iran allocated to the 14 presidential elections is 58,640, including 34,522 in cities, and 24,118 in villages and rural areas, while the number of polling stations abroad is 345 centers in more than 95 countries.
